Description

My clients are growing, and they design machinery and systems for the world's process industries, for many customers that you'll instantly know.

They have a vacancy for a DESIGN and DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER to assist the Technical Director in the technical development and technical upgrade of existing process machinery, development of new systems, more efficient technologies for their customers.

Heat Transfer, Thermal Engineering, Thermodynamics knowledge is very important in this role. The systems you'll be developing will use these abilities, and any knowledge that you have of combustion, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, burners, process heating and cooling and similar aspects. Nice to have: ANSYS or Chemcad or Aspen, a 3D CAD package such as Autocad inventor or Solidworks.

Your role will be to work in research and development- to do the theory, the calculations, then hand those specifications to equipment suppliers to get a prototype made, designed, costed, run a development and test project until the finished machine takes shape. Sometimes you can also be called on by big manufacturers to advise on their manufacturing process, heat recovery, energy efficiency, and this leads you onto developing machines just for that customer. As well as a good salary and a positive company to work for, it can be a fascinating job too.
