- Description
60% of your time doing electrical and mechanical assembly of clever PLC controlled food processing machinery - then 40% of your time travelling to UK food factory sites to install those machines, or service and repair them. Does that sound like a good mix, one that will give you a work/life balance? Then contact me for more information.
I need an Engineer or Technician with electrical wiring or mechanical fitting skills, someone who can fault find and repair, read drawings, maintain a machine. Someone who will appreciate the idea of working in a team in a factory building a machine part by part from the ground upwards, wiring it, working with the PLC Engineers who will do the PLC programming, seeing a machine that you built actually turning over and working. Then, someone who is happy to drive to a UK site to service, repair, commissioning the machine, and see it working on the customers' site.
If you understand PLC's, great, but other Company Engineers can support you with that. What's more important is a solid mechanical and electrical engineering background, interest in doing a job with variety, end to end of a machine's life, and learning new skills across the years.
Good location?: Bedford, St Neots, Kettering, Northampton, Wellingborough, Rushden.
Rewards: A good basic salary, realistic hours (the company doesn't do a lot of overtime), high pension contribution, 33 days holidays, company vehicle for site work- and don't forget the variety.
