- Description
You're a Maintenance Engineer - you've been trained to fault find using PLC's as a diagnostic tool - you want to go deeper into control systems, automation software, PLC programming, and like to be involved hands-on, but working in a variety of different manufacturing sites to keep it interesting? This is the job for you.
Working alongside a team of PLC programmers who can help you upskill yourself, you'll be part of a small team which handles "site support" - travelling out to UK sites - mostly in the Midlands-- to help the resident maintenance engineers to diagnose faults on PLC controlled machinery, using your own ability with PLC based fault finding (Omron, Rockwell automation, / Allen Bradley / Rockwell, or Siemens or Mitsubishi or other PLC's), working on conveyors, automated machines, packaging systems, tracing the fault and rectifying it. Also, as you go along, the PLC control software team will help you to gain more PLC software skills, joining them from time to time on their own PLC programming projects.Living Birmingham to Leicester area would be ideal, and if you had any ability to modify PLC software, or work with HMI or SCADA, that would be a great bonus, but it's not essential. Fault finding using PLC's will be enough.Salary: You'll receive a basic salary of £38000 - £40000, plus paid overtime after 37.5 hours, plus car, good benefits, pension, healthcare, and professional development.
