- Description
Working from home in Central England, you will be part of a team designing PLC and C control software for a variety of machinery. You'll see some of their work in mechatronic automation solutions- mobile plant and machinery, tractors, heavy lifting systems in quarry vehicles, cranes, scissor lifts, warehouse automation.
And if you want to join them, read on.We need an Engineer with PLC programming skills, and the ability to do some C programming too, as some of the projects go better with C than with PLC. On the PLC side, ladder, structured text, Codesys, it really doesn't matter, nor does it matter if you've worked on Allen Bradley, Siemens or Mitsubishi, Omron or any other PLC. The team prefers Codesys, but if you're a PLC programmer, you can pick it up.You'll work from home as part of a small Design and Development Team on some projects, and by yourself on some smaller controls projects- working largely on Teams, but occasionally meeting up at the UK factory face to face, and about 5 times a year, going to a customers' site to commission and implement your control software. It probably isn't a role for a trainee- you'll need to be able to contribute PLC software for the team, C too - so experience with PLC programming and some C ability is required.
