Description

Factory Automation is an increasing global trend. Machines are getting faster, more intelligent, and continually being developed for the next decade and beyond. My client is a machinery manufacturer who is continually developing machines for new applications, as well as improving their older ones.

A new PLC Control Systems Engineer is required to help to design the existing and new machine projects, and be part of the continual developments for the future.

What do we need? An Engineer with PLC programming experience, able to write original control software from scratch- could be Allen Bradley, Siemens or any PLC. Someone who can then test their control software when the machine has been built. Someone who has the ability to read electrical drawings, work on drives / inverter / servo motion control systems. Then commission the control elements of machines on sites 3-5 times a year. A bit of travel, not much, and you'll know well in advance of when it will happen.

What do you want? A job with a lot of variety, chance of trying out some new ideas, probably less travel than you've had in the past, a secure company which is spreading its wings, working with some clever machinery engineers, chance of working on your own PLC control automation engineering projects from start to finish without masses of management.

Salary: In the £50K's, plus bonus, some overtime, good benefits, half day Fridays, sensible hours generally.

This position is commutable from Huntingdon, St Neots, Bedford, Sandy, Biggleswade, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Luton. Engineers come to the company from here, and it's all driveable.
