Description

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved from the paper concept to the finished machine.

Working as a Senior Engineer in the Design and Development Engineering team for a manufacturer of automated special purpose machinery, you'll use your experience of machinery design to join in the design of electro- mechanical, mechatronic machines, BUT you'll also lead a small team of Design Engineers on your own design and machine development projects- designing new machines, prototypes for new customer applications in converting, manufacturing, rotating and processing machinery. Or projects to advance the machines- make them more robust, faster, more efficient, easier to manufacture.

This will mean involvement in machinery design from scratch- mechanical engineering / design calculations (which materials, fabrications, specifying parts bearings gear couplings motors, moving parts hydraulics, pneumatics, stress, loadings, speeds etc).. Familiarity  with 3D CAD and 2D CAD (for example Solid Edge, AutoCAD Inventor or Solidworks experience).

A good opportunity for a Design Engineer who has worked for an industrial machinery manufacturer to jump up to the next level, into management of research, development, design, projects, leading a small talented team, yet at the same time, using your ideas, your hands-on skills to develop a finished engineered solution.
