Description

Ideal for a Mechatronics Engineer. Someone who has a mix of electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge, to develop a range of machinery-- to make improvements on the present machines, to develop new machines and systems for new markets, to engineer and design new special purpose machines, prototypes.

The company is already a world-class PLC controlled, automated machinery manufacturer, growing, stable, but looking to the future, investing a lot in design, research, development of new machines.

It's your job to listen to customers, market trends, Engineering Managers, and then to look at ways of making improvements to the existing machines- and that might mean improving the electrical or mechanical design of the machine, suggesting better drives and motors or PLC controls design. There might be an entirely new market for a new machine- it's your job to design a prototype bit by bit, do trials, refine it, get a finished machine built that solves the customer's problem.

A really interesting job with total involvement. OK, we concede that we will not get an Engineer who is strong in all of the PLC automation, control, electrical design, mechanical design aspects- but a Mechatronic Engineer with a liking for machinery, and a curious, enquiring mind would be perfect for this.

This position is commutable from Huntingdon, St Neots, Bedford, Sandy, Biggleswade, Baldock, Letchworth.
