An extra Control Systems and Automation Engineer is needed by my Bedfordshire machinery manufacturer client. For the past decade, they have been steadily growing, customers and project levels have risen, and to keep pace, more Engineers are needed.

The Control Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer will join a team which designs the PLC HMI control systems software for each project- tests and debugs the finished machine controls before it's released to a site team which commissions the machine. Your job will be design, PLC programming, synchronising one machine with another with a conveyor with a packaging machine with a mixing dosing blending process etc. Occasional assistance with site commissioning will happen too, but it's not massive.

Experience of PLC programming is essential. Rockwell Automation / Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC software, SLC, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Step 7, TIA Portal for example. An electrical background to appreciate what's in the control panel and some Wonderware Intouch or a similar SCADA package configuration would be useful too.
