A role with a lot of variety– working for a Gas Turbine supplier, helping them to source parts and replacements for new and 10 – 20 – 30 year old installed machinery.

It’s a great job for an Engineer who likes to find suppliers, find a way of solving a problem, has the ability to read drawings, knows a bit about Gas Turbines of today and old Rolls Royce Olympus, old Rolls Royce, GE, Ruston gas turbines for example, where to get the parts, how to modify them to replace obsolete parts, and then build up a database of suppliers, prices, how you modified them, re-designed them to fit, etc.

You’ll almost certainly have a Gas or Steam Turbine Engineering background. Ideally buying, spares procurement, design, instrument/ control spares, mechanical issues, valves, pumps, piping on turbines – people who have worked on turbines and understand obsolescence issues, site maintenance issues, read drawings to take off the spares requirements etc.
